COMPUTER TRAINING
Ahisaun has started with this training and small business activity
in 2005. Firstly Ahisaun trained its members to increase their capacity and then
Ahisaun began thinking about opportunitiesto pass their skill to other people.
Ahisaun members therefore began to offer training in Microsoft Word, Excel,
Power point and Access to people from outside and to receive someincome for the
benefit of the organization
and members.
The objective of this small business activity is to increase
more the capacity and skills of people with a disability and to demonstrate
their talents to the community so that this make them be more confident to
communicate andinteract with the people from outside.
Ahisaun, our members, students from outside and the wider
community all benefit from this computer training activity. Importantly, it
helps to empower and sustain our members and strengthen Ahisaun to become able to
support its daily necessity and to expand its training to the district in the
future.
New Disability
Training Centre
Ahisaun has started to construct the first Training Centre
for people with a disability in Kukoa-Gleno, Ermera District. This Training
Centre is very important because it will offer a practical way for all people
to have the opportunity to learn some skills, which they can apply to support
their life and share with their friends and community. Ahisaun would like to
make this possible especially for those who live in remote areas and are most
disadvantaged.
The first phase of this project involves the construction
of the Training Centre building, which we started with a grant from the
Timorese Government but the funding is not enough to complete it. To finish
this first stage we seek additional funding support from our friends and donors
to make it possible to complete the Training Centre building so that we can
start to run training programs. Ahisaun will run training activities in
agricultural methods, computing skills, shoe making and in time will focus on
hospitality training.
The next stage of the project will involve constructing a
water supply system for the disability centre, local primary school and nearby
communities. The final stage will add suitable accommodation quarters for
people with a disability and take advantage of the beautiful surroundings to
establish a guest house.

project a reality please contact us. We would love to hear from you.
